Avalon: A type II protogynous cultivar pecan variety. Well pollinated by Creek, Mandan, Pawnee, Gafford pecan varieties. Avalon has high levels of resistance to pecan scab. It is a cross between a Gloria Grande and Caddo. It is patented by UGA. It averages 47 nuts/lb and 53-54% kernel on mature trees. Harvest date starts early to mid October.
